It's GO time!

DiRTY ReD 2008 Running and Fitness Fitness Goals

So, 2008 will mark 23 years of running for me which would make me the ripe old age of 24! Ha!
Like any other year, I have new goals to accomplish and each year I get more and more excited! This year, I want to complete two half marathons, two duathlons and POSSIBLY a marathon with a handful of 5 and 10K in between! While training last year I added spinning and swimming to my workout plan and that made a big difference in my running! By using other muscles that I do not normally use, I felt a lot stronger in my training runs and my last half marathon!

There is one tool that also worked well for me and that is the Runners World Personal Trainer. I was ready to start training and wanted the convenience to map out my own workout that satisfied my needs I think the Runners World Personal Trainer was a great start! Check with your doctor, get a check up and check it out
http://runnersworld.genesant.com/www/xnt/rw/pages/Splash.aspx. This is a great tool for those that do not have the time or money for a personal trainer. Having said that, never hesitate to ask your local gym and trainers how to properly use the resources available to you!

As you know, TEAM DiRTY ReD is forming all over the country and the women that are a part of these teams are absolutely
amazing to me! I just can not believe that there are other
women out there that are CrAZy for running like I am and
their passion and drive is addictive and inspirational!

TEAM DiRTY ReD Indiana's group leader Misty C: Hey Nicol, I wanted to let you know that your Dirty Red Indiana team represented you at the Clinton Lake Ultra on Saturday, our team had 5 runners out there and we took 3rd and 4th place overall females and two of the guys were top ten! We did well!
Everyone loved our team gear. We wore the capris, long sleeve team shirt, running hat and team jacket. We looked great! The next morning we ran the LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle and managed to run 7:30's with tired legs, but wore our Dirty Red Gear as well. I saw a girl running in the DiRTY ReD butterfly fitted capris that wasn't part of my team, so that was cool! She passed me at the 4 mile marker ( but she didn't run 30 miles the day before I am sure!). You will be able to read and see more on our upcoming website
